The Mediterranean,
without the tourist traps

Hidden Med is an independent travel blog. No sponsored posts, no press trips — just honest research, real prices, and the places most travel guides don't bother with.

What Hidden Med is

There are thousands of travel blogs that will tell you to visit Santorini, Dubrovnik, or the Amalfi Coast. This isn't one of them.

Hidden Med covers the places that fall through the cracks — the Albanian Riviera before it gets overrun, the Montenegrin towns that Dubrovnik day-trippers never reach, the Greek islands where you still pay €8 for a meal and mean it.

Every guide includes real prices. Not “budget-friendly” with no numbers — actual euros, what things cost today, and honest breakdowns of what a trip will set you back. Because the most useful thing a travel blog can give you is the truth about the bill.

How the guides are made

Guides are built from a mix of primary research, interviews with travelers who've been there recently, and data from official tourism sources. Prices are verified against current listings, not copy-pasted from a 2019 article.

The history and story sections go deeper than Wikipedia summaries. Every place has something stranger, more dramatic, or more interesting than the standard tourist narrative — that's what we're after.
